About this website
This site contributes to the history of Tranby Cooperative for Aborigines from 1980 to 2000, during the first 20 years under full Indigenous control.
Tranby was committed to adult learning, and it didn’t have to be in classes. Tranby valued learning on the job, learning in the community, learning at the Glebe campus or learning in political campaigns.
At times people who were enrolled in Tranby in Glebe took part in learning in these different ways as well as in their classes. At other times, Tranby worked directly with unions or community organisations to establish learning places.
